OLD FOUNDRY CEMETERY
NEAR LODI, MARION CO., TEXAS
LOCATION: From Atlanta, at the intersection of Hwy. 77 & 43. Take
Hwy 43 south for 6.7 miles to Bivins, Tx., turn right on FM 248,
go 13.4 miles. Cemetery is on the right side of the road.
The Foundry from which this cemetery got it’s name was situated
about l/4 mile north north-east from the chapel, on the east side
of the railroad and on the east side of the old Jefferson-Lodi
road. The foundry existed in the early 1850's.
Joseph and Mary Minter donated this 5 acres of land for the church
and cemetery. They are buried in Row 5.
Cemetery was read 28-NOV-l995 by Gerald Hammock, Charles Steger,
Jane Nunn, Melba Tims, Irene Powell & Kathryn McAlexander.
Cemetery was read north to south, starting in the northeast corner.
This cemetery is known to be predominantly white. 1
The oldest known marked grave: Row 15
